Soboro

Crumble topping of minced meat etc. そぼろ。

Used on top of plain rice in bento or donburi. Ingredients are minced meat / chicken / shredded boiled shrimp / fish; and scrambled egg. Often arranged in a colorful pattern.

Types:
  • Niku-soboro, minced meat
  • Tori-soboro, minced chicken meat
Uses:
  • Soboro don(buri)
  • Soboro bento
  • As filling for onigiri
  • Mixed with egg to make omelet, soboro-tamago-yaki
  • Stir-fried with vegetables
